How much fuel does information technology have in it? If information technology doesn't have much you could utilise some octane booster.

Drain the tank, fresh gas and cleaner inside. New battery, and if you lot can replace the spark plugs I recommend it. You lot might demand to replace the fuel filter besides (I'd recommend it regardless if information technology'southward like shooting fish in a barrel to go to). Flush the other fluids like you said, fresh oil run for the duration of the fresh tank of gas then alter information technology again and resume normal intervals. Cheque the restriction lines for dry out rot besides.
Unless it's some high strung tight tolerance motorcar you should be expert from that.

^ By and large the fuel won't stay in the carb/lines for that long though, it eventually just trickles dorsum into the tank, so it should exist fine just draining the tank and changing the fuel filter (and all the other fluid flushes)
But if information technology's fuel injected I don't know if the fuel will stay or not, so disregard my advise in that case.

Just follow Nabster's advice and you lot should be fine. If you say it turns over, a simple draining of the fuel system will do. And ofcourse bleeding the system later, seeing as it's a diesel fuel =)

To be honest I'd exist surprised if yous really need that much piece of work to get it going once more. My Mustang saturday in front of our business firm for well-nigh 10 years before I got my license and started driving it. Nosotros put a new battery in information technology, and it fired right up, 10 yr sometime (non stabilized) gas and all. Of course, the engine in the Mustang is much more than forgiving for things like old gas than a modern auto would be, but modern gas is a lot better in those regards.
